Disney Nails!

Hey friends!

So last weekend my boyfriend and his family took off to Disney World in Orlando! SUPER jealous, but unfortunately I remain homebound. Before they went I had a chance to do a Disney inspired design on his step mom's nails, and they turned out SO CUTE. Check them out!

Adorable, right? I did a simple polka dot design, swapping out some dots for little Mickeys (and one big one on her ring finger,) and a cute Minnie with a 3D bow* on her thumb. I sealed those in with three coats of topcoat; I'm hoping they stay on for the duration of their trip!

*Bows can be found on ebay!

Plus! I added some studs to the boyfriend's step-sister's acrylics, too :)

Winter Waterfalls

Hey friends!

I'm still shivering away here in Wisconsin, but that doesn't mean I can't paint my nails ;) I'm back with another wintery, fun, EASY design!!! It's called the waterfall technique, and takes just a few minutes and 3-5 polish colors. Check it out! Products will be listed below, along with a written tutorial.

Up close! Pretty, right?

To achieve this design I used five polishes: a light nude-pink for the base and a light, medium, and dark purple and a gold glitter. First, I painted two coats of the base color and let it dry. To create the "waterfall" I dipped a small striper brush* into polish and just wiping it down my nail, lifting it towards the ends to taper the lines. I started with the light purple first and progressed, leaving the glitter for last. Then I popped on a topcoat and wa-la!

*Striper brush can be found in sets or alone on ebay!

Winter Pastels feat. OPI You're Such a Budapest

Hey friends!

How was your Christmas & New Year?? I had a great time visiting with my giant family and eating food I can only justify with "it's the holidays!" One of these days I'll start a workout routine and shed the extra pounds I've gained... ;)

ANYWAYS.... I'm back with some new nails for you today! It's currently -1 degree in Wisconsin, and I am begging the Season Gods to bring warmth back to me. But you and I both know that won't be happening anytime soon, SO, I thought I'd start bringing it back on my nails! I know a lot of people think pastels only work for spring and summer but they are WRONG, girlfriend. Just stick to cool colors and maybe some glittery accents and it's still totally appropriate for winter. (Or just paint whatever you want because your nails are a blank canvas and there are no rules!) Check out what I came up with! Products will be listed below along with the steps to get this look.

Please excuse my dry, wintery cuticles ;)

Don't you love that stud?!

I am OBSESSED with this purple polish (OPI You're Such a Budapest from the Euro Centrale spring/summer collection 2013) and it's creamy formula is a dream to apply. It's still available at Ulta.com and you can probably still find it in some salons or stores. If you see it, GET IT GIRL I'M TELLING YOU. Ok, rant over. I painted three nails with the purple, and two with the silver, one french style, popped a silver stud* on and finished with two coats of Seche Vite to lock those babies in.

*Studs can be found in a wheel for $1 on ebay!
