Holiday Transition Nails

Hey friends!

So, I don't know about you, but this holiday season has been CRAZY for me. Between all of the sides of my family's Thanksgiving's and Christmas' AND the boyfriend's...I'm exhausted. And as much as I love painting little masterpieces on my nails let me tell you, I've just not been up for it. That being said, I did dive in and spend a night looking up some inspiration for a design I could wear on Christmas all the way through new years, and I totally scored. Check them out! Products will be listed below.

I found a similar design on Pinterest, because like I said I have had zero time, so I thought just going off of something without having to think would be best. I love this design because it's got spirit but doesn't scream Christmas, and it's glittery enough for new years. I don't know who originally did this but all credit goes to them, just for a disclaimer :) I did tweak it a bit; they used a white glitter while I used a nail art pen for the "snow." Painted the tips, squiggled on a tree, added some crystals to some of the snow and a star on top of the trees and viola! I finished with two coats of Seche Vite to seal in those jewels*. Easy peasy.

Ugly Sweaters.....

Hey friends!

This will be my last post before Christmas, and it definitely fits! A client and a good friend of mine came to me with an idea of ugly sweater nails*...and I LOVED it! Check them out! Products will be listed below.

*This design was inspired by a picture she had brought to me; all credit goes to original artist!!!

We stuck with a neutral pallet and some simple designs; some little hearts, a bit of tribal, a wintery snowflake, a tiny reindeer, and a glittery thumb. With that said, simple definitely doesn't mean quick! Both hands took me about 2 hours total (including drying time and some conversation,) but was totally worth it. I am so proud of how they turned out, and so stoked she loved them!!!

Christmastime is Heeeeere

Hey fraaands!

Earlier this week I met up with my amazing Mama, and we decided to do some nails (what else would we do?) Christmas is coming up reeeeaaallll fast, ya'll, and I realized I haven't done one set of winter or Christmas nails yet. Wtf, right?! It's DECEMBER, homegirl, get it together! Soooo, we had some fun and decided on some matching mother-daughter nails (so cheesy I know, but come on, look how cute!) We chose some simple red nails with a few fun, glittery accents. This design is seriously so simple (but still looks moderately complicated to the average eye) and beautiful. Check it out! Products will be listed below.

Mama's nails are on the left, mine on the right.
Mama opted for a silver glitter accent nail AND some polka dots (easily created with a dotting tool*) while I stuck with a gold glitter accent nail. We both have a half-moon of green jewels* on the glitter accent nail, and I added one gold jewel at the base of the rest of my nails. Such a cute, EASY design for the holiday season!

Welcome!!!!

Hey frands! I see you've stumbled upon my blog. It's a little blah at the moment, but I promise, it will be up and running beautifully (sometime) soon. A little about me and what my blog is all about: My name is Maddy, I am an aspiring musician/nail artist chillin' in the midwest, no pun intended. I started getting into nail art in high school and never stopped. This blog is intended to be a nail art blog but may include some music craziness, maybe some reviews, who the eff cares let's just have fun :) To start out, I've included a portfolio of sorts showing some of the work I've done in the past; just a few photos to give you an idea. Thanks for stopping by! Please come back to see what else I'm up to! I will try to post weekly and get this damn blog up and running! These are one of my favorites I've ever done! Watercolor is amazing.

This was one of my first attempts at nail art! Cute present! Funky application though :P Girl got it together don't worry.

Those cuticles....thank god for cuticle oil!

Another early attempt at nail art for Vday. That cleanup was a bit of a fail... :P

Working with some Konad stamps!

This took me a good couple hours!

Love some animal accent nails ;)

Another favorite....watercolor is just so beautiful on the nails!

Mark Jacobs inspired!

The middle finger design is SUPPOSED to be a snowflake...

Sometimes simpler is better ;)
